How it works

Pick a task
Every task has a size, an area and a list of what done looks like. Browse without an account.
- 2
Propose a plan
Say how you'd do it and roughly how long it takes. A maintainer picks one plan and sends you the guide; an S task is yours as soon as you send.
- 3
Open a pull request
Work in the repo and put a Task: NW-42 line in the pull request. We review it on GitHub.
- 4
Merge, earn Werk
When it merges, the task is done and the Werk goes on your profile.
What Werk is
Werk is how we say thanks. Each task is worth a fixed amount by size: S 1, M 3, L 8, XL 20. It never turns into money, and there are no levels or ranks.
What to expect
- Signing in makes you a Novawerk member: one account, no ranks. Maintainers run the board.
- We don't mentor whole projects. Tasks are small enough to finish alone.
- Take on as many tasks as you can finish. Release one if life gets busy; nothing counts against you.
